Salient’s David Yakos co-invented Maker Studio along with maker Parker Thomas and successfully licensed the product line to ThinkFun, who produces “addictively fun games that sharpen your mind.” Salient was able to provide industrial and production design support all the way through manufacturing. Maker Studio launched in February of 2015 at the New York Toy Fair and now aims to inspire kids from around the world to explore creative solutions in engineering.  Check out some more write ups and awards on Maker Studio HERE.

“First off, David Yakos is a visionary. It’s a great feeling to be part of the process as he latches onto the essence of what we want to accomplish and builds out design ideas from there. I am also impressed with how detail oriented Salient is.  In the toy industry we need “best effect at least cost,” this requires a blend of creativity and carefulness. Salient got this right away for us and has already delivered two great products and a test prototype to flesh out a third concept. We are definitely coming back for more!”
